What is a playstation?
The playstation is a console, a device that connects to a TV and is designed for people to play games on. It was originally released in the mid 90s as Sony’s answer to Nintendo and Sega’s gaming consoles.
In its first incarnation it had 2D games with 3D graphics, as opposed to the other two which had been going for 3D from their inception.
After an initial lacklustre period of selling poorly against the competition, Sony persevered with making the playstation more advanced but also better supported by game developers; this led to several key titles (e.g. Final Fantasy VII) which helped propel the PS1 into success over its main rival at least partially due to strong sales of these specific games.
The playstation’s main competitor in the home console market is the Microsoft XBox, although Nintendo has recently enjoyed a resurgence in this area following its release of the Wii.
The three companies have pursued different strategies, with Sony and by extension the Playstation having a reputation for being slightly more ‘mature’ or ‘adult’ than their counterparts due to the mature content of some games.
Why is my playstation so loud?
1. It overheats, so it has to spin the fan faster in order to cool down itself.
2. Dirt gets in the ps4 fans and makes them noisy(the fans are so quiet when you take the console out of the box) or because there is dust on one or more of its components which interrupts normal airflow, which adds resistance to rotation without any gain in cooling performance.
This will make your system run slower and hotter just like a laptop does with a dirty fan, but eventually the dust stops being an issue when you clean your system thoroughly.
I have already made a video on how to fix that problem with the playstation 4 overheating troubleshooting guide… regarding overheating issues.
3 . Dirty laser lens inside disc drive, which is used to improve the disc reading speed and to decrease the jitter while playing games.
4 . Some people reported that it could be a faulty power supply unit (the problem seems to be connected with overheating) . You can check this article for more details: ps4 power supply repair or replacement.
5 . Cheaper production method which leads to loud noise when your console is starting up (you can find numerous videos on youtube regarding this issue) don’t confuse game console startup noise with normal game play sound.
The bad fan bearing could also force you to hear some strange sounds coming from the system. For example if there is a piece of dirt stuck in between two blades of your fans then you will clearly hear grinding noise while spinning.
5 Factors that will make playstation noisy like generator
It is natural that every gamer loves to play games. Different gamers have different versions of gaming consoles as well as tastes to choose from.
In addition, the growing demand for the latest versions of playstation has made it a requirement for gamers who seek quality console gaming experience.
Hence, buying these devices becomes an expensive decision because there are a number of options available in the market and a number of factors that should be considered before making a purchase.
Obviously, Playstation 4 Pro is one such device that needs careful consideration while deciding to buy among many other best priced ps4 slim deals listed on various online trading markets.
For instance, if you are thinking about its price or brand name then think again because here we will explain some other points which might help you in making a wise decision.
Following are the five factors that matter to all those gamers who love playstation because it is something really helpful for those who seek quality gaming experience:
System Performance– Since, there are a number of options available then what should be considered as a vital point? Obviously, the performance comes in first place and not only this but also one other thing that matters is ps4 pro deals .
These deals usually affect the console performance. To put it clearly, these deals usually offer better specs at lower prices than earlier versions.
System fees – There are various playstation devices available in online stores with different price tags mentioned against each one of them even if they carry the same specification might confuse any customer or gamer.
So it is important to look at factors like fees because these charges can affect the overall price of playstation 4 pro.
Ease of availability – This factor also matters when you are looking for any kind of device or product. It doesn’t matter whether you want to buy ps4 slim deals or ps4 pro, what matters is how easily available they are in the market.
Because if they are not easily available then this will make gamers feel discouraged and stop them from buying it even though they really deserve one.
Performance- Performance mainly refers to the features that a particular model offers along with its looks and design.
For instance, some models like PS4 Pro offer better performance due to enhanced graphics while others project 1080p resolution. Every model has different specifications and it is up to the gamer or customer what they want.
Design- Playstation devices are not only used for playing games but also watching movies, listening to songs and other related activities. So, better design makes it easy for gamers to perform different tasks smoothly.
Before buying any kind of playstation device then it is important to consider its design because that will help in choosing the model which you really deserve according to your requirements.
How to make the playstation quiet?
## First Turn Off The Console ##
You can’t turn the PlayStation off while it’s reading discs, so be sure to remove any game or movie you’re playing before powering down.
When pausing a game, never switch the system off. Doing this will not only cause problems with data that was being written to the disc, but it will also corrupt any save files currently on your hard drive.
Always simply put the console in standby mode (in other words, press and hold the power button) when you want to take a break from gaming.
Using Swap Magic/Action Replay/Devil type 6.20 ofw Dvd Patcher 1 & 2 do not count as proper methods of playing backups unless if you have a ps2 with the mod chip.
This method of playing backups requires you to press and hold the power button. If there’s an exception, it’s swapping discs while the system is in standby mode (in other words, putting it in sleep mode by pressing and holding the power button).
You must bring up the options under ‘Game’ or ‘Video CD’ before you enter into standby mode. This will allow for a seamless swap from your backup disc to your original game once you wake up your console from its slumber state.
While using any sort of Homebrew app/game, moderate yourself from powering off or changing discs until you exit out of said program or games loading screen / menu for best results.
Use common sense while doing this since I haven’t experienced any problems while swapping discs.
Don’t tap too hard on the power button when pressing it down.
## Second Turn The Console Back On ##
If the console is in standby mode and you just tapped the power button to bring it back into life, your data should still be intact. However, if you held the power button way too long and brought up a blue screen asking you to hit ‘X’ before turning off your system, then this means that something went wrong.
Lightning strikes or static electricity could have caused a shock which has corrupted memory between interrupting with your system’s standby/suspend state and powering it up again. This must not be confused with returning from an actual ‘sleep’ state.
This is incredibly rare, but it’s possible that you could have caused data loss by tapping the power button too hard.
If your ps2 has a yellow light when turning it on, then this means your console didn’t shut down properly at all and you’ll likely need to open up your system with a screwdriver in order to straighten out whatever metal piece you might have pushed into the motherboard.
If the console turns on but doesn’t read any discs or games, then this most likely means that something went wrong while turning off your console (shocking ps2 with static electricity can do some weird things), which will require opening up your system with a screwdriver too.
It should be noted that game consoles are actually pretty resilient machines that were designed to be played for hours on end.
Although the event described above is possible, it’s incredibly rare and unlikely to happen to you if you’re using your ps2 normally.
Of course if your PS2 is broken already, there’s no way I know of to get your data back – not even opening up the console with a screwdriver would do anything about it (that was just what might fix it).
The best you can hope for is opening up the console and seeing if any visible damage happened – then try to find out what part needs replacing (this requires some extensive research – i.e., not something average person could easily do).
## Third Cleaning The Disc Lazer Lens ##
People often ask, ” How do I clean my ps2 lazer lens? “. However, the fact of the matter is that your PS2 isn’t dirty at all. It’s just designed in such a way that if dust accumulates around the metal piece inside it won’t be able to read discs properly.
This is simply how it was designed – there are no moving parts or anything like that. And because it has no moving parts that could break easily, using any sort of cleaning solution on your ps2 will only leave behind sticky residue which can cause more problems down the road.
This includes touching things like cotton swabs or Q-tips to the disc laser lens without having anything on them whatsoever.
You must keep in mind that you cannot clean anything inside your ps2 since there are no moving parts and any sort of fluid will only harm the insides.
If it bothers you, just do what some people actually do: Cover up the lens with a small piece of paper so dust doesn’t accumulate around it as easily.
4 tips to make playstation quiet
1. First and most important: Playstation will noisiest when the discs are scratched! Search our website for a tutorial on how to clean and maintain your playstation discs so they can last longer.
There is an option above if you clicked the link to buy a pre-cleaned playstation/playstation 2 games disc, either new or used. This way you know that ALL your games have been cleaned before being sent to you! Check back often because we update our inventory frequently.
2. Sony Playstation 1 & 2 use standard PC cooling fans inside their cases to keep them cool, but unfortunately those fans are somewhat loud even at normal operating speeds.
You may be able to improve the noise level by placing some rubber feet under the console, which will keep it isolated from the surface on which it is placed. This will reduce some of the vibration transmission, reducing noise slightly.
You can also try to place something on top or under both sides of the Playstation case to prevent them from vibrating against anything else. I use a cable organiser underneath my ps1 but anything similar should do fine.
You can even use old CD cases if you have many laying around! Try to remove both sides of cases because they are connected with 4 screws each and there is nothing connected between them so they will not affect warranty.
Be careful when opening consoles because they are very delicate nowadays! If your console was manufactured before 1998 then most likely you have original Sony Playstation screws so be aware that Phillips head screws of this size are very weak and soft (they strip easily).
These screws will not be able to open the original ps1 console. We highly recommend you use the T8H security screwdriver for opening playstation consoles! You can buy it on our website or on ebay where we offer it also.
PS1 & PS2 consoles have different sizes and shapes of screws so if you plan to open both models then buy 2 pcs – one for each console.
3. If your Playstation 1 or Playstation 2 is new or near-new, it might help to leave the top cover off as much as possible, providing ample ventilation around all sides, back and front as well as underneath – just as long as no foreign objects such as pens or paper clips can be inserted into any openings.
This will allow the console to run significantly cooler, at which point it will not need to spin discs as fast and therefore be much quieter. But of course, you may need access to some of the controls more often this way.
4. Another option is to leave the cover on but remove all cables except power, IDE (with only 1 hard drive connected) and video (if you really want).
The lower temperatures inside the case should then cause the fans to spin less often, reducing noise even further.
Conclusion
So what do you think? Does your playstation sound like a generator, too? And if so, are you ready to make it quieter?
